Miles Wragg returned to the wheel of a Radical for the Supercar Challenge weekend at Circuit Zolder, joining Zoet Racing alongside Mitchell van Dijk. With temperatures reaching an intense 39°C throughout the weekend, the team arrived feeling confident and ready to challenge for strong results.
Practice provided plenty of positives, with Miles quickly settling into the weekend while getting to grips with Zolder's strict track limits. The car performed well throughout the sessions and was very well prepared by the team heading into qualifying.
Mitchell took on qualifying duties, securing fourth on the grid for both of the opening sprint races and putting the team in a strong position to fight at the front.
Unfortunately, the weekend quickly unravelled in Race 1. Mitchell was forced to stop on track with an engine issue, resulting in an early retirement. The team worked hard between races to identify the problem and get the car back on track.
Miles took over driving duties for Race 2, but it soon became clear the issue had not been fully resolved. From the start, the car suffered a partial loss of power before a catastrophic engine failure brought his race to an end on lap two. After returning to the pits, it was confirmed that the engine had sustained irreparable damage, bringing the team's weekend to an early close.
Although it was disappointing for the weekend to end before the first day of racing had concluded, mechanical failures are an unfortunate part of motorsport. Despite the setback, Miles is grateful to Zoet Racing and Mitchell van Dijk for the opportunity to compete in the Supercar Challenge and looks forward to the next opportunity behind the wheel.
